Wastewater, fresh water, stormwater pipes and roads—these are the arteries that keep our city pumping. The repair and replacement of these key city assets is at the core of SCIRT‘s work.
SCIRT‘s ”tight five“ – the lead contractors delivering our work programme to 2016 - City Care, Downer, Fletcher, Fulton Hogan and McConnell Dowell – are sponsoring the 2013 World Buskers Festival. These people are working on more than 90 projects currently, ramping up to 150 projects soon.
Every day, they, like everyone in this city, have to travel to and from work with detours and delays, which are an unavoidable part of our city‘s rebuild and recovery. When it‘s all finished, the assets being repaired and replaced will be better than ever
Remember the men and women fixing our pipes and roads are real people. You probably have friends or relations who work for the SCIRT delivery teams.
When we look back at the end of each day, we want to be able to say, ”We did a great job by looking after each other every moment of every day. We give a damn.“
The next time you‘re stuck in roadworks, choose to give a damn. Acknowledge it‘s all part of recovery. Slow down and we‘ll all get home safely every day and enjoy the World Buskers Festival every year.
”THE WORLD BUSKERS FESTIVAL IS A WAY FOR SCIRT‘S FIVE LEAD CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES TO REMIND US ALL HOW MUCH WE HAVE IN COMMON AND HOW MUCH THE CITY‘S REBUILD IS SOMETHING WE ARE ALL PART OF.
