• Where can I purchase seats for a show?

  • Seats can be purchased for any show through our website. Click on the ‘BOOK NOW’ tab at the top of the homepage and choose the show you wish to book tickets to and follow the further instructions. During the festival, you can purchase your seats online or alternatively they can be purchased from our booking booth. This will be located inside the Art Gallery Foyer and will be open between 11am - 11pm every day of the Festival. 

  • What time do doors open for a show?

  • Doors open approximately half an hour before a show starts.

  • What if I accidently book a show for the wrong night?

  • Be very careful when booking your tickets that you click on the correct night. If you have a problem, then you can email info@worldbuskersfestival.com and they can help you reach a solution.

  • What does the age restriction on a show mean?

  • The age restriction stated on the show info pages will be strictly adhered to. Due to licensing requirements as well as show content we have age restrictions in place. For any show that is R16 or R18, I.D. may need to be viewed to gain access into the show. If denied entry into a show due to being under the restricted age there will be no refund of seats purchased. Please check carefully what the age restrictions are on the various shows before purchasing your tickets. 

  • Can I take food and drink into a show?

  • All venues are strictly no BYO. All our venues are licensed premises with both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available to purchase on site. Food can be purchased from selected venues or the food trucks outside the venues. We discourage food being bought into our night time venues. 

  • Can I purchase food and drink at the venues?

  • Food and drink can be purchased at most of our venues. During the day, there will be food trucks stationed at Market Square as well as food and drink options available in the North Quad. During the evening there will be food trucks stationed outside the gates of Christ’s College as well as food and drink options inside the North Quad. There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available in the foyer of Christ’s College Assembly Hall and Art Gallery Foyer.

  • Can I use EFTPOS?

  • There will be cash out machines available at our venues to allow you to get out to purchase food and drink as cash is quickest and easiest. Seats can be purchased at our booking booth through EFTPOS or cash but door sales will take CASH ONLY. Remember that our artists accept cash donations at the end of their shows so CASH IS KING.

  • Are my seats allocated?

  • We have two types of seat options to a show. VIP which is located at the front of the venue or general admission which is any other seat in the venue that isn’t previously reserved. The general admission seats are not allocated and done by a first in first serve basis.

  • Will there be shade at the daytime pitches?

  • At some of our daytime pitches we will have temporary shade spots up and the natural surrounding will provide some sun relief. Please make sure you bring along suitable shade protection, especially for young children.

  • Can I purchase tickets to any show if I am in a wheelchair?

  • We have wheelchair access to all our venues. Please make sure you get in touch with our team prior to the festival if you require wheelchair access on the seats you have purchased.

  • Where can I park when coming to a show?

  • As the Buskers Festival is now back in the City Center we don't have any specific allocated parking for those attending the Festival. There is public parking on the surrounding streets. 

  • Where can I find the timetable?

  • The timetable is available on our website or alternatively in our festival programme or festival pocket guide. Pick up our festival collateral for free from council owned public places around Christchurch. During the festival, you can pick up either piece of our collateral from any of our day time stages or night time venues or from the booking booth.

  • Do I need to bring my own seat to Comedy Club?

  • You can bring your rug or cushion to sit on the grass islands or you can take advantage of the seating on offer. No additional chairs will be allowed into the venue due to space restrictions.

  • Will there be door sales to a show?

  • Provided ticket allocation hasn’t already been exhausted, there will be door sales to shows that can be purchased with CASH ONLY. These can be purchased on entry into that show.

  • How can I get the best seat possible at a show?

  • Seating at a show is on a first in first serve basis. You can purchase priority seating for shows in the Buskers Club which will ensure you a seat in the first four rows. If you have purchased a general admission seat come early to wait for the doors to open so you get the best seat in the house. 

  • How can I find out information on a show?

  • Click on the show page on our website that you are interested in and that should tell you all the information you need to know about that show. If you would like more information, then please feel free to email info@worldbuskersfestival.com or call the World Buskers Festival office.

  • How long does a show go for?

  • Show times are varied. Each individual show page has the expected running time for that show. These are just approximate times and may be slightly shorter or longer. Most evening shows run for approximately 55 minutes with a few shows being exceptions.

  • What if I want to bring a large group along to buskers but want to guarantee our seats together?

  • We have great hospitality options available for group bookings if you wish. Head to the hospitality page to check out all the details. Alternatively, if you wish to make a group booking, then get in touch with us and we can sort you out and ensure your group is seated together. Please note there may be minimum number requirements to book as a group.

  • Are there VIP hosted tables available at Comedy Club?

  • We have changed up what we are doing and no longer offer the option of a hosted VIP table at Comedy Club. Alternatively, we now offer the option of a hosted VIP table for our three major shows inside the Assembly Hall at Christ’s College as well as hospitality options to our Nothing But Stand Up shows at Sixty6 on Peterborough. Head to their respective show pages to book your table now. Comedy Club is all standard seating.

  • The comedy Club is a show held in the North Quad that consists of 4-5 street performers (changes every night) who do a short performance each. It is strictly 16+ and goes for approximately 2 hours with a short interval in the middle.
